There’s nothing like an Adirondack winter getaway! With miles of trails to ski and snowboard, cozy spots by the fire, and an excuse to shop for loved ones, it’s no wonder winter is our favorite time of year.
With COVID cases back on the rise, we’re just as dedicated as ever to providing our guests a safe, comfortable, and stress-free stay.
If you’re looking for a weekend escape within driving distance, come and see us in North Creek. There are lots of socially distanced activities to enjoy this season!
Sure you could head to hotspots like Vail or Jackson Hole to get your powder fix, but did you know that New York has more ski resorts than any other state in the country? From the Adirondack high peaks to night skiing and cross-country trails, there’s something for every skill level.
Spend your Adirondack winter vacation with us and enjoy being minutes (yes, minutes!) from Gore Mountain and the North Creek Ski Bowl. Whether you’re looking for a twilight adventure or a full day of diamonds and old-school Adirondack terrain, Gore has it all.
If you’re not into winter sport, have no fear. There’s more to do in North Creek than shack up in the lodge. From winter horseback riding to tubing and snowshoeing, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the crisp, cool air and fresh snow.
Another great way to spend a winter day in the southern Adirondacks? Take a trip to Nettle Meadow Farm and Animal Sanctuary! Just a short drive from us in North Creek, Nettle Meadow offers farm tours on Saturdays, and their cheese shop is open daily! (Be sure to check with them for updates.)
There’s nothing better than a hearty dinner after a day on the slopes or the farm! There are dozens of fantastic restaurants in and around the southern Adirondacks. Enjoy pub food in a classic ADK-style lodge or a great meal by your personal fireplace when you take it to go.
Our luxury suites even feature partial and full kitchens if you want to do some of the cooking yourself!
Sometimes there’s nothing better to do in the winter than to holiday shop! From the North Creek staple, Hudson River Trading Co. to the dozens of galleries and gift shops along your route to Alpine Lodge, you’re bound to find just the right gift for everyone on your list.
On your way through, you’ll pass through Warrensburg. While the annual “World’s Largest Garage Sale” is more of a summer affair, the village is home to antique and specialty shops galore. Don’t forget to stop by Oscar’s Adirondack Smoke House and Jacobs & Toney’s for great tasting and unique stocking stuffers.
Swing over to Chestertown for more great gifts, and treat yourself to something, too! The Adirondacks are home to many artisans and creatives of all kinds!
And speaking of creativity, don’t forget to visit the North Creek Mosaic Project while you’re here! It’s just across the street from Alpine Lodge. After 10 years and hundreds of volunteers, our community mural, created with the guidance of artist Kate Hartley, is complete!
