Romance of Winter in the Adirondacks

Option- arrive via Train from Saratoga on the North Creek Saratoga Railroad!

DAY 1- Ski at nearby Gore mountain with 2100’ vertical 67 trails for all abilities. Apres ski , walk to numerous bars, shops, and restaurants. Take the kids night skiing or tubing at the nearby North Creek Ski Bowl. Dine at 1 of numerous excellent restaurants in the area. Fall asleep in the comfort of your Adirondack style bedroom back at The Alpine Lodge watching a movie on your in-room tv/dvd.

DAY 2 – Take a drive up to Lake Placid www.lakeplacid.com – home to both the ’32 and ’80 Winter Olympics www.orda.org. Take a gondola ride up Whiteface Mountain to see the view from the fifth highest mountain in the state. See the Olympic Arena and the Olympic Museum. Ride up to the top of the Olympic Ski Jumps for a magnificent view.  Walk and shop through the lovely town of Lake Placid- lots of nice spots for lunch as well!

Day 3– Cross-country ski or snowshoe right out the door to the great trails at the Ski Bowl- see a waterfall in its icy splendor. On the way home stop at Circle B Ranch for a horse-drawn sleigh ride or some winter horseback riding.
